I just launched this site as my personal site, I can't think of anything worth writing about, and I don't want it to be empty, so I figured I'll mention my syntax theme for atom.
About a year ago I switched to Atom text editor from Sublime Text. Other than a few performance issues, I'm overall happy with atom and don't see myself going back. I converted my Sublime Text theme to Atom, and made it publicly available as a theme which I never did when I was on ST. For some reason I didn't think it was anything special until it started getting downloads and I started to realize just how much time I had probably put into it.
I never meant to create a publicly available theme; In fact, I usually would change a single color or font size every few days or so, but more importantly I usually made these changes reactively, in the sense that I never thought about 'what color should I make this', but instead I would notice that something was bothering me or looked wrong to me and so the unique thing about this theme that it's a whole bunch of tiny changes over a very long period of time (about 4 years to be exact). This has not been true since using Atom - for some reason the fact that I can just pull up a chrome inspector resulted in much more activity from me.
